God Damn did it feel good.
Sat Jun 18, 2005 at 08:14:20 PM PDT
Once a month I have dinner and drinks with friends. They are all Republican and I am the lone progress Democrat.
Up until tonight they always razz me for supporting higher taxes and a weaker military.
Of course I am always battling against the Limbaugh propaganda.
But not tonight. Tonight I went on the offensive.
No matter how they tried to bait me, all I said was " Republicans are too religious for me." "I go to church every Sunday, but still you guys are too religious for me."
"You guys are always wanting to shove a tube down someone's throat or adopt Snowflake Babies"
"You guys are too extreme for me"
Nothing. Dead Silence. There was not rebuttal.
God, it was great to shut them up.
Anti-extremism. The winning platform for 2006 and beyond!!!!

Oklahoma City

Ten years ago today, at 9:02 a.m. midwestern time, terrorist Timothy McVeigh murdered 168 people in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Among the victims were 19 children attending day care in the building.

"My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building."
--Ann Coulter as quoted in the New York Observer, Aug. 20, 2002
"RE: McVeigh quote. Of course I regret it. I should have added, 'after everyone had left the building except the editors and reporters.'"
--Ann Coulter, from an interview with Right Wing News

On TV or in person, you can trust that Coulter will speak from her heart.

FCC to Investigate Armstrong Williams
Thu Jan 13, 2005 at 12:57:18 PM PDT
With your help that is
Today, Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein, a Democrat, said the agency has received about a dozen complaints against Williams. He also stated that he certainly hope the FCC will take action and fully investigate whether any laws have been broken.
Of course none of the other commissioners responded to his statement during the meeting. Afterward, both FCC Chairman Michael Powell, a Republican, and David Solomon, who heads the agency's enforcement bureau, declined to comment.
Help Commissioner Adelstein get an investication launched by taking a few moments to complain to the FCC about the payment of $250,000.00 by the whitehouse to Armstrong Williams for promoting NCLB.

From Boing-Boing
Reader Jeff Culver in Seattle says:
"I was thinking today about how the 'red v. blue' states graphic is really misleading considering the slim margins that the candidates won some of those states by, so I sat down and created the map that's attached. In the dozens of hours I've been watching the news I haven't seen one like it, but thought that you and the BoingBoing readers might find it interesting. I think it definitely portrays our fellow states far differently than the extreme way we've been seeing to date."
I am not sure if this means we are more or less divided.
But it brings to mind Obama's convention speech about how America is not blue states or red states.
Although I am feeling pretty blue today.
